Ethan C. Davis - Old Clothes

Part of the Isla Vista Worship family, and one half of the musical duo 'Dropout', Ethan Davis has now released a solo worship album, titled 'Serenade'. One of the most creative worship albums we've come across in recent years, Davis moves from indie rock tones to future-bass synths and lush, vocoder acapellas, nailing every single style he turns to. Lyrically he sings of God in a fun and intimate way - these songs genuinely sound like Davis is speaking to his friend - not some distant Holy figure. We love this record, and are excited to share the upbeat tune 'Old Clothes' - largely referencing Isaiah 61's "robes of Righteousness" and Romans 12 "renewing of your mind".

Lyrics:
eah I'm taking my time with You
There's no rush when it's just us two
Excuse me while I take off my shoes

Cos i'm walking on Holy ground
I can hear all these Holy sounds
And they arise the Spirit in me

You clothed me with the good stuff God
You pulled off every single misunderstood thought
You renewed my mind
You renewed my life
You renewed my heart

You make me crazy in the best way God
Your thoughts about me make me wanna take these off
And how am I supposed to wear these old clothes?
When You made me brand new they didn't fit anymore

You restored every broken dream
And repaired every open seam
So my heart can hold the love that You give
Yeah I come when you call me home
You remind me i'm not alone
And that I never have to be

You clothed me with the good stuff God
You pulled off every single misunderstood thought
You renewed my mind
You renewed my life
You renewed my heart

You make me crazy in the best way God
Your thoughts about me make me wanna take these off
And how am I supposed to wear these old clothes?
When You made me brand new they didn't fit anymore
