Austin Davidson - Aggression

Whilst speaking to us, Austin Davidson described this song as "a confessional song about how selfish I (or anyone) can be in relationships. I've felt the Spirit convict me recently of how often I have my eyes shut and ears closed with the ones I love because I don't want to endure friction and ultimately growth in intimacy". Beautifully crafted, and introspective, this song is a wonderful commentary on the often unnoticed self-focus we can live with.

Lyrics:
I've been running through the dark
I see you for what you are
Oh, don't you know that I've been walking in my sleep?
Oh, don't you know that I've been running in my dreams?

But I'll never know

I never know what you want
I never see what I need
I never know what you hear
'Cause I'll never hear what I say

Convince myself, "just do your best"
Push and pull, forget the rest

Oh, don't you know that there's a ghost of you in my head?
You haunt yourself in me and said...I'll never know

I never know what you want
I never see what I need
I never know what you hear
'cause I'll never hear what I say

There's a ghost of you in my head
